China, early Ming dynasty

Standing in samabhanga on a lotus base sculpted with one row of upturned petals, both hands clasped together in front of his chest, wearing dhoti fastened around the waist with a belt and falling down in pleats on his bare feet, cape draped around his shoulders, its streamers encircling both arms and touching the base, bejewelled, his face displaying a serene expression with downcast eyes below arched eyebrows running into the nose-bridge, smiling lips, elongated earlobes, his hair combed backwards falling in two tresses along his shoulders and secured with a tiara.
